Hello YETI,
I'm reaching out to present a summer internship opportunity, ideal for
undergraduate or graduate students looking to gain some experience working
with geospatial data, data cleaning, management, and processing. The
internship is part of an ongoing PhD research project evaluating
agroforestry and restoration across India.
Position: GIS Summer Intern
Duration: 1 Month (flexible hours, set your own)
Location: Remote
Compensation: Paid ($5/hr, 20 hr/week)
Responsibilities:
- Organize collected spatial data
- Provide satellite or aerial imagery verification of polygons
- Make modifications or alignments where required
- Document observations and changes
- Report/Check-in Weekly with progress
Requirements:
- Proficiency with Google Earth Pro or QGIS is required
- Prior experience working with ESRI shapefiles
- Attention to detail
The number of hours is flexible, depending on the intern's availability. We
will meet once a week to discuss work progress and set targets for the
upcoming week. This internship offers an opportunity to gain GIS data
cleaning and management experience while contributing to meaningful
