WWF India’s Climate Change and Energy programme focuses on influencing climate policy, devising appropriate adaptation strategies, promoting renewable energy and overall low carbon development strategies, and evaluating impacts of climate change on ecosystems and species. Applications are invited from self-motivated young individuals, knowledgeable on climate change issues, especially on national and international climate policy, to join the Climate Change & Energy team as Senior Programme Officer. *Location: *New Delhi, with national/international travel involved. *The Job Profile:* - To assist in implementing WWF India’s existing and new initiatives on climate change, with a primary focus on climate policy (follow/analyze/influence climate policy issues in the context of global/national/state level actions and their inter-linkages). - Undertake research activities related to issues such as innovation, technology transfer, financial mechanism in the climate change debate. Also, prepare relevant documents for wider dissemination/advocacy. - Assist in providing programmatic support to various activities in the climate change and energy division. *Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:* 1. A Masters degree in Climate Policy/ Environmental Science/ Environmental Engineering/ Economics/ Forestry/ Natural Resources/Development Studies/related disciplines. 2. Proven experience of at least three years in Climate Change especially climate policy/ environmental policy issues. 3. Ability to work with a team and multiple stakeholders and deliver results under tight deadlines. 4. Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills. Remuneration will be competitive with Indian NGO pay scales and will depend upon candidate’s experience levels and the overall WWF-India salary structure.
