*Job opportunity: SoIB Project Manager *
The State of India's Birds partnership (stateofindiasbirds.in) is looking
to hire a person familiar with birds to help plan, coordinate and carry out
various activities that further the cause of bringing best available
evidence towards bird conservation in India.
*Specific responsibilities include to:*
- Keep an overall watch on progress towards goals agreed by the
partnership; to track and complete planned activities
- Liaise with various members of the partnership as well as external
stakeholders for this purpose
- Liaise with web developers to ensure the website is up to date
- Help arrange and run meetings
- Help manage and keep track of finances and reporting for the project
- Manage a small team at the secretariat of the SoIB
*Eligibility *
The successful candidate will have at least some familiarity with the birds
of India and with the birdwatching and bird conservation scenario in the
country. They will be well-organised and methodical in their work, be able
to take initiative when needed, and will have excellent people skills. They
will have 3-5 years experience in a management/coordination role, working
across multiple stakeholders to build synergy and produce meaningful
outputs.
*Other *
The position is based in Bangalore, with the possibility of working
remotely part of the time. Remuneration is between Rs 50,000 and Rs 70,000,
depending on qualifications and experience.
