Please find attached a call for two paid research fellows, interns and
volunteers towards the research that will contribute to the
conservation of herpetofauna in the Western Ghats. Could you please

The Conservation
Research Group (Kerala) invites applications from those interested to assess populations
and threats to herpetofauna in south India. Two paid full-time Research Fellow
positions are currently available with the following eligibility
- Above the age of 18
- Proficient in identifying and handling
both, Amphibians and Reptiles
- Skilled in data entry, analyzing ecological survey data
(including GIS-based) and writing up reports in English
- Speak three languages: English, Tamil, Malayalam and/or Kannada
- Ability to converse effectively and
conduct interview surveys and workshops with local communities and forest
department officials
- Can drive a car (license required)
The monthly
remuneration is Rs. 10,500/- and will be based in the Theni district of Tamil
Nadu.
We are also looking forward to support:
1.
Internships
(minimum of 1 month) – Individuals would need to be proficient at either
handling & identifying herpetofauna or interacting with people about the
same.
2.
Volunteers (minimum of1 week) – Individuals from
a non-wildlife/nature conservation background. Preferably writers, graphic designers,
illustrators, theatre artists, sound composers and non-wildlife/nature
photographers will be preferred.
