Dear colleagues,
The European Commission has opened the 2016 call for Individual Fellowships
within the Marie Skłodowska Curie Programme.
*Deadline for proposal submission is 14th of September 2016 (17:00 Brussels
time).*
The goal of Individual Fellowships is to enhance the creative and
innovative potential of experienced researchers, wishing to diversify their
individual competence in terms of skill acquisition through advanced
training, international and intersectoral mobility.
Individual Fellowships provide opportunities to acquire and transfer new
knowledge and to work on research and innovation in a European context (EU
Member States and Associated Countries) or outside Europe. Additionally,
the scheme supports the return and reintegration of researchers from
outside Europe who have previously worked here. It also develops or helps
to restart the careers of individual researchers that show great potential,
considering their experience.
*Eligibility criteria:*
The Eligible Researcher must be an *experienced researcher (ER)*, i.e. at
the time of the call deadline be in possession of a doctoral degree or have
at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience.
For Global Fellowships (GF) and the European Fellowships (EF) Reintegration
Panel: the researchers must be nationals or long-term residents of EU
Member States and Horizon 2020 associated countries. Long-term residence
means a period of full-time research activity in the EU or Horizon 2020
associated countries of at least 5 consecutive years.
*Mobility criteria:*
Researchers may not have resided or carried out their main activity (work,
studies, etc.) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12
months in the 3 years immediately before the call deadline.
*Types of Individual Fellowships:*
*EF (European Fellowship)*
*Duration:* maximum 24 months
*Host institution:* The beneficiary must be a legal entity located in an EU
Member State or Horizon 2020 associated country and must employ and
supervise the researcher during the action.
In addition to the above, for IF European Fellowship (EF) Society and
Enterprise Panel, the beneficiary must be an entity from the non-academic
sector.
*GF (Global Fellowship)*
*Duration:* max. 36 months (12 – 24 months outside Europe + 12 months
return phase to Europe)
*Host institution:* The beneficiary must be a legal entity located in an EU
Member State or Horizon 2020 associated country and must employ and
supervise the researcher during the action. The secondment host (outgoing
phase) must be a legal entity located in a Third Country (no EU Member
State or Horizon 2020 associated country).
