Dear Team YETI,

My name is Garima Sharma, and I work with the Indian Institute for Human
Settlements <https://iihs.co.in/> (IIHS) in Bengaluru.

I am writing to you to request posting the following email seeking
applications from interested individuals to the IIHS's fellowship programme
called Urban Fellow Programme (UFP) 2024-25. The description in the email
shared below outlines how this can be relevant to the YETI audiences.

In case you have any clarifications, my colleague Jyoti, who works on the
UFP programme, can answer those for you.

Best,
Garima

Description for posting below

Dear YETI Community,

We are excited to share an incredible opportunity for young ecologists,
conservationists, and researchers interested in exploring the intersection
of urban ecosystems, climate change, and sustainable development in India.

The Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) <https://iihs.co.in/> is
now welcoming applications for the 9th cohort of our flagship programme, the
Urban Fellows Programme (UFP) <https://urbanfellows.iihs.co.in/>, for the
academic year 2024-25. The UFP is a nine-month, full-time, residential,
unique interdisciplinary programme that is scholarship-based and aligns
closely with the interests and expertise of the YETI community.

Why the UFP is Relevant for YETI Members:

   -

Interdisciplinary Approach: The UFP curriculum integrates concepts,
theories, and practices from urban planning, human development, economic
development, climate change, and sustainability, providing a holistic
understanding of urban ecosystems and their challenges.
   -

Focus on Urban Ecosystems and Climate Change: Dedicated courses in the
core, commons, and electives exploring the ecological and environmental
dimensions of settlements and urbanizing areas, covering topics such as the
impacts of urbanization on ecosystems and climate systems, urban
biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services, and climate action.
   -

Applied Learning: Fellows engage in real-world projects, internships,
and fieldwork specific to participants’ areas, allowing them to apply their
ecological knowledge and research skills to address pressing urban
   challenges in India.
   -

Networking Opportunities: The UFP brings together a diverse cohort of
young professionals and researchers from various disciplines, fostering
collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and networking within the urban ecology
   and conservation community.
