Andrea Sessions, co-owner of Sunlight Gardens in Andersonville, TN, a nursery specializing in native perennial plants, will present, "Exceptional Native Plants for Your Garden", on March 19, 2009 at 7 p.m. at Johnson City Power Board Auditorium on Boones Creek Rd (Hwy 354.) In this presentation Ms. Sessions will show why natives are a good choice for every garden and how they help gardeners create sustainable landscapes. Sponsored by the Southern Appalachian Plant Society (SAPS), this program is free and the public is invited.

Ms. Sessions graduated from Hampshire College in Amherst Massachusetts with a BA in Botany and Horticulture. Andy worked at the New York Botanical Garden in tropical ferns and later at the Smithsonian Institution in the Department of Botany. She also received an MS in Botany from the University of Tennessee. For the past 26 years she has partnered with her husband Marti Zenni, Tennessee wildflower lover and landscaper, in their business, Sunlight Gardens.
