Subject: moving email in OE6 to another computer

I am trying to move my email from one computer to another. I have been
sent to various sites that give instructions, which seem simple, but I
am not having any success. I have managed to save email folders onto a
flash drive and even copy to the store folder, but when I go to OE,
they do not appear. When I use the import feature, I get a screen
telling me no messages can be found in that folder or another
application is running that has the required files open. I would
appreciate any help. Please keep it simple--I do not know much
technical stuff.

Sean,
I have so many ads coming in my inbox that say I requested them I can't
even count them, and I never heard of most of them until I read their
messages...!!!!
I just gave up and click on delete....
I run SpyBot, Adaware, and Norton.. every couple days ...but it does no
good that I can see...maybe keeps it from getting worse but there are new
ads every few days...
I never buy anything from the puter or put my credit card number in
anywhere...Do no banking or business of any kind on the Net but no sooner I
go to a website to look something up...I can count on an advertisement from
some company selling something very similar to what I just looked
at...!!!!! So I know there is Spyware watching every thing I do...and they
should know that I know ...!!! and they will when they read this....!!!
Which I believe they will...!!!!
Several of my friends have given their computers up because of it...No
one does anything to stop the spying and advertising against our
wills...and we all pay way too much for these computers as it is....I
refuse like many others to pay for keeping those bastards out...!!!.Excuse
my French but I have a temper too...!!!!
I believe even those looking to make money on us for their protection
could well be some of the guilty parties...!!!
Many more have about had a belly full too....I'm just lonely so I hang
in there for the company...but I watch what I do....
            Hugs Always Viv...

There's other ways but this is also simple.

I've been using email saver xe. There's a fifteen day free trial on this
website.

The SPAM that you get in your INBOX has nothing to do with spyware and
adware that infect your system. You may want to tell your friends to email
you in a different email account and use that account only for friends and
family. Definitely separate business from pleasure.
When you go to groups like this, some of these spammers joined groups to
harvest email addresses which they would then use to add to their SPAM
database. Also, when you join public newsgroups, Yahoogroups, Googlegroups,
and other forums, your email address can become public. There are programs
called spiders that go out to groups and websites that gather legit email
addresses. If it becomes unbearable with all the spam mail you are getting,
you might want to create a different account just for this group and filter
the emails that you get that is not coming from this group to the trash or
a separate folder. Leave your old email account alone as a decoy. Let it
fill up so anyone trying to email you in that account will get a return
email. Meanwhile, when you are registering for website or email, try to
clean it up enough so that the verification email can get into your INBOX.
Once you get them, just allow your email account to fill up again. You can
also try using SPAMIHILATOR.

I never liked them Sean,
Always a pain to bring up....so I never even try to open any PDF's
anymore....glad I quit them now...
The puter is sounding worse and worse all the time instead of the
better and better it should be....

Read about PDF files that might be spying on you in the above link. I'm
not liking PDFs more and more.

Did you check your MSCONFIG's Startup tab?

mail the other day so, I thought I'd take care of this on my off day. I
installed it today and it seems to have gone smoothly. My only issue is
that now Windows seems to start slowly. Whereas before I had a cold boot
time of around 30 seconds I'm up to somewhere like
a minute and a half. When the desktop finally appears the icons are all
blank and then slowly start to materialize. My running programs (firewall,
AV, battery icon, touchpad icon, power setting icon) in the task bar are
slow to appear as well. Has anyone else experienced this?
