no, there is not a keystroke to mute the speech, but you can create one with either trackpad commander if you have a multi-touch trackpad, keyboard commander, or if you have a numpad, numpad commander. in the commands section under speech, you will see mute speech for one of the command assignments you can make. If you need help with this, let us know.
