I may play around more with sidebar, just because since I'm a new user, I want to know as much as i can about all the options. But at the moment, I agree with you, David.

I find the browser to be much more efficient. I set it to column view and it works like a charm.

I can never get it to do what I want it to do either inthe finder or anywhere else so I go into finder prefs and uncheck all the checkboxes for putting things in it.

Hi David,

What kind of problems do you run into with the side bar?

Hi all,

I'm trying to follow Ricardo's instructions.
I pressed Command O, I went to the sidebar and tried to select my disk drive, but don't know if I did. I'm now in some weird thing, I don't even know what it is. It's trying to copy music from my documents folder, problem is, there's no music there. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to exit. Cmd-Q doesn't work, Cmd- w won't close the window, esc does nothing. And of course, if I just shut down, when I turn the Mac back on, I'll be in the same bloody window. Is there some radical " get me the *** out of here command on the Mac?"
Thanks,
Donna
