No, I took them from my computer which had the same data as my phone then using my Macbook, sent them to My Iphone when I got it. The people at Apple told me this was the best way.

did you export them directly from your device?

Actually Donna, I moved my contacts by exporting them as v-cards and putting them on an SD card and then used the import feature in mail on my macbook. It worked well.

Donna;

This stuff seems to be tied to outlook. I suggest you find someone who uses one of these things or the company and ask for a method that is not coupled to outlook. they may not even know of one. You could try missing sync but I've not heard that it is successfull in these instances for one reason or another. Which device are you looking to sync?

Hi David,

Thanks. I'm less concerned about files, than I am about contacts. I like having braille when I do email and stuff, so use them to send email when I
travel. Can you sync contacts that way?
TIA,
Donna

Donna;

Congratulations!

I don't use any of those buggy proprietary critters but from what I
have been able to gather, the best way to use them is to connect them to a wireless router and transfer files and stuff that way. I use an
ICon and this works well.

Hi all,

Well, do to an interesting turn of events, it's looking like a MacBook
may find its way to our house this weekend! YAY!

I have one question before I take the plunge. Does anyone on the list
use a braille notetaker such as the Pacmate, Braille Sense or
BrailleNote? If so, can you sync it with your Mac? I know about the
program Missing Sync, but wasn't sure if it would work with a
notetaker.
TIA,
Donna
