Hello Amanda and all:

If you want to rename a file:

1. highlight it

2. press enter

3. Press your delete key. This should clear the entire name. If your file has an extension ( .mp3, .txt, wmv etc) you will need to hit the delete key a few more times to remove the extension.

4. Type the name of the file you want and press enter.

That ought to do it.
