Hi, Greg.
I didn’t notice the Speak Time setting, but turned it off. I then tried Patric
Time again both with Silewnt Mode turned off and on, and still no joy. However,
my watch is showing as “Disconnected,” at the moment, so it may update later
when it connects. Also, like I did yesterday, if I let the watch and phone get
far enough apart, and then when they connect to each other upon coming close
enough again—through my WIFI network—that seems to fix a lot of issues.
Thanks for pointing out that setting.

In the Watch app of your phone go to the clock setting and turn of "Spoken

Subject: [macvoiceover] Taptic time not working since Watch OS9 upgrade
Hi, listers! Hope you are all having a great weekend…
Last night, I did an upgrade to IOS16 and Watch OS9 at virtually the same
time. All seemed to go well with both upgrades.
Then, I noticed that my watch would not do the Taptic time thing, when I
double-tapped on the face, whereas it had before the upgrade. Also, it was
displaying a different watch face, something called “Metropolitan,” which I
had never heard of, and wasn’t even in the Watch app settings anywhere. So, I
shut the watch down and powered it up again. Then, VoiceOver wouldn’t come up
for me at all…
So, I left the watch on the charger, and took my phone out for the day. When
I came back, the watch reconnected with the phone, and VoiceOver came back
up, and my “Meridian,” watch face was back in place. However, Taptic time
still is not working…
Now that all the dust has settled, I’m wondering if this is a bug in Watch
OS2? Has anyone else upgraded and noticed that Taptic Time has gone away?
Bemusedly,
