I don't know for sure if this is a high sierra problem or some kind of
strangeness suddenly with mail. I cleaned up my inbox last night and got rid of
a bunch of emails; went from over 200 to about 65. This morning a bunch of them
are back. The ones I looked at were gmail but I don't know for certain that
there weren't any from icloud or charter. So if this happens to you, you
probably aren't losing your mind; the emails probably really did come back.
