[macvoiceover] burn avi and mpeg files to dvd

I have obtained some movies in both the avi and mpeg (mpg) format
I would like to know if it is possible to burn these on to a standard dvd so I
can play them on my dvd player
if this is possible may I please have any tips you may have to offer with the
software that can burn these to dvd?
