First of all thank you for your note.
You gathered correctly. In our office we are planning to move to LibreOffice
and I plan to use this program to write newsletters and thank you notes and the
like. For this it is quite nice. If I were going to write a book for example
it would not be a good fit but I don’t think I will write a book anyway, grin,
smile. Many governments around the world all or in part are using LibleOffice
because of the fact of licencing cost. Mainly I really wanted to make it work
because nearly every one told me that I could not make it work, smile.

Just to confirm, from what you say I gather that when using the word
processor VO sees each individual paragraph as a separate edit field, as it
used to do in Open Office? It probably still does it, but I haven't tried it
in years.
I personally find that slow and inconvenient, and prefer being able to
navigate the document with up/down arrows. I do see how some people could
like it the other way though.

LibreOffice Writer with Voiceover a guide V--01.
LibreOffice is an office suite which is used by tens of millions around the
world. It continues to be developed by programers and code masters who
wanted an office suite with all of the enhancements that they wanted to see
in an office suite and they share it with the world in many languages and on
a number of platforms, the mac os, Windows and so on.
Hopefully I will be able to give you a few hints and tricks to make it
easier to get around in Writer the word processor in this suite.
First of all we should begin by downloading this app. You can download it
here, https://www.libreoffice.org Once you have it downloaded and placed
where you want it we can begin.
1. Creating a document.
Find LibreOffice in the doc or whereever you have it placed and open the
program.
2. Now vo-keys right arrow to writer and vo space on it.
Once writer is open you will be presented with two edit fields. The first
edit field appears to be the header if you want to place a title for example
to be placed at the top of each page. You may just start typing the
information you want in your header and you can read what you wrote with
vo-keys-a. After you have read what you have written you may wish to make a
change in your writing. You may do so by interacting with the edit field
and moving through the field with vo-keys and the right left and up and down
arrow keys.
3. when you move to the second edit field with vo-keys right arrow The
second edit field should be for the body of the document and it works the
same way. Every time you press enter a new edit field will be created for
you to type in and you can read what you wrote with vo-keys-a. You can move
between the edit fields with vo-keys left and right arrow keys. If you wish
to make a change inthe the text in any one of these edit fields interact
with the field and use right or left arrow and up and down arrow keys to
move through the field.
4. When you have completed your document and if you would like to spell
check your work you can press command-shift colon as you would with any
other word processor. You will find a grammer checker as well in the spell
checker area.
When you close your file and wish to open it again try the following.
Open your file and vo-keys right arrow to the scroll area and interact.
Now using vo-keys right arrow again move to document view and interact.
Opening files that have not been written with Writer may be done in the
following manner.
Select the file you wish to open and go to file and open with. Arrow down
to Libre office and Vo-keys space on it.
Then with VO keys right arrow move to the scroll area and interact.
Then move to documant view and interact.
If you find that you want to edit the file you open and you find that you
have no typing echo it may be because the file has opened in the read only
mode.
go to file edit and find edit mode and check it.
This is all that I will add for now but this should be enough to get you
started.
