I am sure that there is a way to turn off spellcheck but I don’t use notes. I
just looked for it but I did not come up with it.

That’s a great description of the behavior I’m getting in Notes, I’m not
experiencing it on my iPhone, just my Mac.
Is there a way to disable spell check or word completion just for one app?

Hi Ian & all,
I have this issue in Notes on my iPhone 14 Pro running the latest iOS
17.3.1. Actually I've had this issue for several versions of iOS. If I type
in the Notes app, either using dictation, Braille input, or simply using the
onscreen keyboard, and make a mistake, when I correct that mistake, the
corrected word gets read as if there is a space between letters. An example
that just happened to me this morning is that I typed the word "worst", but
meant to type "worse". I deleted the "t" and changed it to an "e", and the
word now reads "wors e" I've changed voices, turned VO off and then back on
again. The only thing that sometimes fixes it is to close the note and
re-open it.
Has anyone experienced this in Notes in iOS?
Thanks,
Russell

Subject: [macvoiceover] Weird behaviour in Notes on Mac
Using a borrowed MacBook Air with the latest OS, in notes words are getting
chopped up when I’m in Notes, not noticing it in any other text fields. This
is only on words I type on this Mac, opening a shared note doesn’t seem to
bring it up.
For example I just typed the word tenant, and reading it back I heard ten
ant. Letter by letter it is fine, so I didn’t put in an extra space.
This seems to be realated to an auto complete function I can’t figure out
how to disable. Like, if I let Notes auto complete the word, I get the
choppy read back.
Anyone else experiencing anything like this?
Ian
