Russell,
Are you on a Mac book running Lion by any chance? I ask this because I have
simular issues with voiceover. My cursors do not follow eachother as they
should, and routing them does not work as well. There are things that can
sometimes help this issue but for the most part it is an issue Apple will have
to resolve. Try turning voiceover off for a few seconds then turn it back on.
another thing to do is restart your computer if it has been on for a while. The
third thing is if you notice voiceover acting sluggish or an application such
as Safari not responding it is best to restart your machine. After a restart
and with nothing else running give the slection of text a shot on Safari it
should work. Hope it works for you...
