what do you mean by 'it sounded bad' ?
try it without the bass pedal, go straight into the interface.
within the gb library you can select a bass tone style, or not.
tick track monitoring within the bass track header.
turn your bass volume up, turn your interface volume up then within the bass
header track adjust the volume to suit. most likely down.

Ok Ian here is what I do.
When I plug in a guitar or bass I do not use a peddle and I plug the bass
directly in to the mike jack and choose mike and here is the reason why.
When you use a guitar or bass selection Apple chooses for you sounds or
plugins that make it sound like rock and that is fine if that is what you
want but I want good clean guitar or bass sound.
I hope I have said this clearly.

Ok, I’m finally at the point where I’ve got my drum tracks laid out, I
plugged in my bass pedal and found it as an input, but when I recorded it
the sound was really bad. I’ve recorded my bass before, but that was many
months ago and I’ve forgotten what I did to make it sound good.
So, let’s pretend, actually it’s not really pretending, that I don’t know
what I’m doing, what setting do I select? I had assumed I selected the
option to plug in a guitar or bass, but I’m willling to stand corrected.
If it matters, I’ve got a Zoom B2 multi effects bass pedal, which has a USB
connection to the computer.
I also have a separate USB audio interface, it’s possible that I send the
regular audio output from the bass pedal to that.
Thanks for any recommendations or suggestions,
Ian
