Can’t speak to the IPhone 6 component, I got IOS 12 virtually at the same time
as an IPhone 8, so I didn’t really have time to get used to IOS 11 on the new
device before I switched.
No problems so far, all of the apps that were updated for IOS 12 seem fine so
far. A few things have new names, like IBooks is now just Books. A few things
are in new places, like the level is out of the compass app and now in the
Measure app, but it still works just fine.
Voiceover specific apps seem to be fine, no noticeable change in the FlickType
keyboard, still works the same, the tactile feedback, I guess it’s haptic, is a
nice touch with FlickType, but that’s new to me with the IPhone 8, not an IOS
12 function.
Most of my Voiceover based assistive functions are through SeeingAI, they seem
to be working fine, I haven’t tested any of the other blindness related apps.
I also haven’t had a chance to test any of the key Apple apps like Pages or
Numbers, that’s on the agendafor this weekend, working thrugh to see if I need
to bring my Macbook everywhere, or if the IOS versions will suffice for minor
tasks.
Connectivity with other ICloud connected apps like Notes and Reminders seem
fine, the drag and drop functions from IOS 11 in Reminders lists carried over,
as did the edit menu functions for moving apps around on the various screens.
All in all, I haven’t found an Oh crap, I wish I hadn’t updated issue.
