On my late 2013 13-inch iMac, I have the single audio jack on the back right of
the machine, just next to the sd card slot. It is a small hole for the 3.5mm
audio jack. Much like the iPhones prior to the iPhone 7, it serves as both an
input and an output jack. The other alternatives is to use usb headphones or a
usb audio interface or a usb DAC.

Your other options are a usb headset.
You may have to adjust the audio output in the system sound preferences
if you dont get sound from that port but you should.
