Mark,
Be sure to avoid older models that use the headphone jack on the iPhone. And,
the only problem with the models that use the lightning port is your power
supply is then inaccessible. So, then some devices, like iRig from IK Multi
Media offer an additional port in the device for their proprietary power plug.
I don’t know much about “Guitar Jack,” but on-the-whole it seems that the iRig
system is pretty popular, because of it’s quality & durability.
Hope this helps,
CJ

Yes, I saw guitar Jack on the guitar tone intro page. I don't know what this
item is called, so I will either go with guitar Jack itself or find it at a
music store or something. Sounds great. Thanks.

A guitarist at our church uses one of these iPad/iPhone based effects units,
you need an adapter. The Guitar Tone info page recommends Guitar Jack, but
they say any interface will do. These are units that plug into your
lightning port that have an input for your guitar and output for either
headphones or audio connection to a board, or mixer, or amp. They also work
to interface with recording software too.

What I am a little unclear about is how I attach my fender Stratocaster to
my iPhone… I cannot envision the cable required to do that. How exactly is
this done?

Mark,
Haven’t used this one, but I’d be interested in the answer myself.
On-the-other-hand, I have used Peavey’s Amp Kit Plus & it’s just about
100% accessible. In fact, I was considering purchasing a blue tooth pedal
board to control it, when I realized that they don’t seem to be continuing
support. I.E. no new releases in a while. But, the app is, still, on the
app store & has a lot to offer. I was just worried about future support.
Anyway, I wish you luck & would be very interested in your experience with
Guitar Tone, if you decide to continue.
Good luck,
CJ
