HiI use transmit from www.panic.com. It's not free, but it works well. I know others prefer cyberduck which is free, but I personally haven't had as much luck with it. Also, there are limited ftp abilities in the Finder itself--you can browse and download files with it but that's all. If you prefer the command-line for ftp you can also use terminal and install whichever unix ftp client you like. Lots of choices :).
