Macs support a number of braille displays already. However, if yours isn't supported, you can try brltty, I know that works, but I haven't tried it personally, so no idea if it works only in terminal or in the finder as well. I've not tried mac speech, and don't have a braille display that works with the mac anyhow, just a navigator and an alva 20-cell display, neither one of which has anything but serial ports, so they won't talk to the mac <sigh> But, the simplest way to find out if it does what you want is to install it and find out.
