To clarify, what's on the rotor depends on what you can do at the moment. In this instance, if you're not in a place where you can enter text, the option to change how you enter text is left off the rotor. That's what Russell's helpful instructions were doing, bringing up a place where you can edit text. Took me a couple of laps through the rotor saying to myself, "where did the typing mode entry go? I know it's here, I'm not going nuts." Of course Muttering, "I'm not going nuts, I'm not going nuts…" makes my wife think otherwise.
