Interesting, mine shows as fully charged since about two days.
But I got a new Big Sur Update today and did it. Maybe it’s worth checking if
one is available for you as well. the problem might be solved then.

I am not understanding how battery charging is handled in Big Sur. When I
look at Battery in System Preferences, it says, “Battery charging on hold,”
and shows my battery at 80% charged, even when I have the power adapter
plugged in. What do I need to do to get the charge up to 100%, or is that not
advisable, for battery age, as the explanation seems to imply? I’m just
confused about the best way to make sure my battery life is as long as it can
be, in case I need to use the laptop away from AC power for an extended
period of time.
