LOL, I guess god can use even books to get us to slow down. I have been using
barred a lot more than I have been using hoopla, so that has been my work
around. But there are some things I can find on hoopla but not on bard. The
playback speed I still do not have an issue with so I’m not sure what that’s
about for you. I hope you get that resolved though.

Neither did I until I clicked checkout, same as with Overdrive books,
except it took me to the Hoopla site where I signed in with the profile from
the app, then the interface seemed pretty similar. Looks like you can only
stream audio, now downloads. But my test book did show up in the app when I
went back to it, and the controls to download worked.
Only trouble now is the playback speed controls aren’t working for me on the
app, and when I reinstalled it kicked me back to 1X speed, and everybody
sounds really slow. Maybe it’s a sign I should slow down and pat attention.

Yes I have noticed certain things have become an issue and I’m able to use
some features without voiceover, but it is a little bit difficult. I didn’t
know you could do it from the website though.

Thanks for the feedback Nicole, I know in a recent update they fixed a
bunch of VO stuff, but this is a puzzler to me because it doesn’t seem to
work at all now, even without Voiceover.
Next thing I tried was checking out a book from the library website to see
if it showed up in Hoopla. It took me to the Hoopla website, where I was
able to check out a book, and it did indeed show up in my IOS app under
the borrowed section. So there is a work around.

Hi Ian,
I’ve been experiencing problems with this app also. It seems to have lost
some accessibility access.

In the last couple of days I’ve tried borrowing audio books from our
library thorugh Hoopla for IOS, and the borrow button just doens’t work.
I’ve had sighted assistance try without Voiceover, still didn’t work so
it doesn’t seem to be a VO specific problem. I can’t recall an update to
Hoopla lately, but it’s possible I’m just not remembering one.
This is happening with two different accounts, and I’ve tried a delete
and reinstall, and a phone restart. Before I check with the library, I
thought I would ask the list if anyone is having success with Hoopla, or
a similar problem.
