Almost 7GB though? I could get at least 7 movies in to that space. But I
guess, this is probably why they don't sell a 16GB model anymore.

That is normal it is using the space for the operating system, (IOS), and
the apps that are part of the device from apple.

Okay, got my 5th gen touch today. And it is the 64GB model. Now I know it
comes preloaded with some stuff, but 8GB? It is telling me all I have
available is 56GB, and this is when I first plug it in, is this normal? Or
is something wrong here? Thanks.
