I have no idea. I don't use either function. Not that I know of anyway.

Hi Sarah, well I finally managed to sync the tracks to the iPhone. Don't
really know how I did it but if it wasn't for your instructions, I don't
think I would of been able to paste them over. I think in my case, it
required me to turn off icloud music library thing. Maybe even the checkbox
found in the preps for apple music. Should these two things have any baring
on just manually getting a few tracks over to the phone from a cd with iTunes
12?

Did you copy them with command plus c and paste them in to the music
playlist under your iphone?
hope that helps a bit.

I think I've tried that. I have all the songs checked I want to copy over
to the iPhone but am having a really hard time trying to figure it out just
to get them to sync over.
It did say that I have I cloud music library turned on if that has anything
to do with it.
Sarah, I hate to be a pain but could you write out, step by step how you
manage to achieve this. So that I can follow your instructions because I'm
not quite sure I'm doing it right at the time of this writing.
I'm sort of confused if you have the songs checked in the music library or
from the playlist radio button itself.
Finding iTunes 12 to be a total mess and confusing. Lol
Thanks

Select the tracks you want to sync, copy them to the clip board and
navigate to the music playlist on your iOS device. Now just paste the
tracks and you are ready to go. Personally I would use Waltr
To accomplish this as it transports everything and converts it for you.
It's well worth the price and they are making the windows client more
accessible from what I've heard.

Hey all, I'm struggling to get how one syncs there music manually to
there iPhone with iTunes 12.
Note: Using OS X Yosemite and have already imported the CD into iTunes.
Its just getting it from the library to the phone that I'm having trouble
with.
Any guidance would be most appreciated.
Thanks
