cmd semi colon will highlight a a misspelled word. You hog vo shift m to bring up a context menu. If you don't' want to do it that way cmd shift semicolon I.E cmd colon will bring up a window wherein you can spell check and tab to a table where you might see correct choices for your word. This works almost everywhere, except webkit.
