Hi Barb, you can get to the bottom of the log by interacting with it and pressing control-option-shift-right arrow. Since there was so much to fix, it is recommend you run repair permissions a second time to be sure it’s done a thorough job. you will almost always find items in the log but running it on a regular basis and after substantial work with the finder such as deleting items and upgrades to the os or updates to the updates is also advisable. To refresh, permission repair should be run from the recovery console, to enter it, restart the computer while pressing and holding command-r. Wait for the boot a few seconds to a minute, then press command-f5 so fred can help you. You’ll want to down arrow to disc utility, press tab and press space on continue. select the disk with your name on it such as barb’s hd or macintosh hd if you haven’t named it anything. tab to first aid, press space. tab to repair permissions and press space. you may need to deviate from these instructions a bit by using vo instead of tab but it’s fairly easy to do. once you’ve started the permission repair, you will find the output and you will also find a progress bar for percentage and time to completion I think. -- Jonnie Appleseed With His Hands-On Technolog(eye)s touching the internet Reducing Technology's disabilities One Byte At a time On Nov 5, 2013, at 7:44 AM, barbara jones <jonesbl@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Hahahahaha On Nov 5, 2013, at 7:21 AM, John Harden <jharden01@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Don't forget that anApple minute is longer than 60 seconds. as in, "that > preacher talked longer than an Apple minute". > John Harden > Quality Brailler Repair LLC > > For professional Perkins Braille Writer repair. > > 386-238-5871 > jharden01@xxxxxxxxxx > 145 N.
