Look, I have way bigger things to deal with today than to sit here and listen to you and I argue back and forth. I may have to have surgery! Not as if you give two shits less! Look, with all do respect, we never ever see eye to eye. From this point forward, I'd really just appreciate it, if you'd not comment on my posts, and just leave me alone for god sake. OK? Tracey, when you do what David said and go into preferences, which by the way, let's get a few things clarified. Are you pressing command+comma to get into preferences, or are you hitting command+J? Command+J is not going to do the trick. All that does it gets you into your view settings. We may eventually need to ajust those things, but for now, let's not. Let's get one thing done at a time. Hit command+comma for me. Now find your toolbar and interact with it with vo+shift+down arrow. Next, vo+right arrow over to the advanced tab and press vo+Space. Now, stop interacting with the toolbar if it doesn't do so automatically. Some times I've found it does, but it's rare. Now, vo+right arrow. Basically what we're looking for is a check box to automatically organize files. I would suggest leaving this checked, but if you'd rather uncheck it, that's totally up to you. You mention you don't want it organizing things so that is one way to get around that. Also there should be a check box in here to automatically copy things to your music library folder. I would definitely! uncheck that. I think if I explain why at this point, it would confuse you, but for now, please just trust me with this, and uncheck it if it happens to be checked. It shouldn't be, but if it is, then uncheck it. That's it. Now hit command+W to close your preferences Window. NO need to restart ITunes either. the changes should be immediate. Now, it shouldn't do that any longer. This is why I really need to sit down with a tutorial of some sort. The main thing I use itunes for at this point is to do things to my iphone. I don't want itunes to control my music library because I have thousands of files that are organized the way I want them. Of course once I play something using itunes it gets placed in the music files of itunes, but I can't figure out how to get it to keep CDs together. It always separates them into all the individual tracks. Please keep in mind too, that I am still using snow leopard. I know that in general that shouldn't make a difference on how itunes works, but I do know that some things may be different for that reason.
