did you try restarting mail? restarting your computer? permission repair?

Don't know what I did but in messages, if I don't hold down the VO keys and
arrow up and down to move from message to message all I get is one word at a
time. For instance, It will read the person's first name, then the last as I
arrow down but it should be going to the next message without holding down
the VO keys. I emptied the trash mailbox this morning and after that is when
this problem started. Any help would be appreciated.
