Friends,
continuing on the braille keypad theme, one observation I made early
on was that the keys are designed to mimic the old Perkins braille
machine -- in that in order to enter a character, you do not need to
press all the keys corresponding to the dots at the same time . You
could even press one key at a time and form a sequence of them (if
you've too much time on your hands) so long as at least one key is in
the down position before the next one is pressed, and only after the
last key is returned to the up position is wen the character is
actually entered. Incidentally, I use the terminology associated with
hardware keyboards for convenience.
The gesture comprises a single-finger single-tap followed by the
lifting of the finger from the item/icon representing the key. Is
there an Apple registered name given to this gesture? I would call it
the `single-finger single-tap-and-lift' which is a bit longwinded
albeit descriptive.
