I couldn't agree with you more, Tracy. I guess I didn't make myself clear. I
want to know the words in the pictures too. I don't really care if a picture is
outside or has three people in it or whatever. I do care a lot about the text.
And they don't have any way of giving us the text. Until they do, I find the
feature useless.

Well, I for one, would like to know words in pictures simply because a lot of
time people post what is essentially a photo of something that contains a lot
of text. For example, a musician’s set list, a menu, even articles are
sometimes image files. In the sense, reading the text in a picture is very
helpful. It is far more helpful to me than knowing that it “may” be a photo
of one person outdoors. I suppose there are many views on that subject, but I
do think they should be commended when they get something right and notified
when progress still needs to be made in other areas. They certainly need to
be told when they go backward and that happens a lot in the area of
accessibility, I am afraid.

Facebook excess ability is the biggest joke on this entire planet. The
simplest things are absolutely impossible to do. Sometimes, I think I am the
only one that cares about notifications, or being able to adjust settings at
all. Knowing whether or not there are people smiling and a picture or
whether or not it is day or night outside is completely useless. Don't they
know blind people have already given up the ability to see pictures? If you
cannot see the picture, what use is knowing what is in it? I Wish the
people at Facebook accessibility would actually either hire blind people or
talk to them before they continue to go on touting how great of a job they
do. Sorry for the rant.
Regards and have a great night!

It seems to me that I recall seeing some kind of an address for the people
who are supposedly working on accessibility at Facebook. And they certainly
got a lot of credit for that very much hyped feature where descriptions are
provided for some photos. Now, there is some really serious breakage that
has gone unfixed for two updates. I would like to be able to write them,
although I'm sure mine won't be the first note, pointing out this very
basic regression in excess ability, which renders us unable to read the
titles of links in our feed. I would say that this regression is far more
important than that overly hyped feature where you get to tell if there's
food or people, but no text is translated, in the many photos which get
posted. I know a lot of people think that feature is the greatest thing
since sliced bread. I think it's kind of a waste until we can actually read
the text, which is always, at least for me, the most important thing in the
photos that I can't see. Anyway, does anybody have the address?
