If your mail is set to conversation view, then you will hear collapsed
disclosure triangle when focused on any conversation thread.
To prevent hearing this, you need to disable your messages being organized by
conversation, in other words, there will be no message threads, and each
message will be individual.
to disable messages being organized by conversation, go to the menu bar with
vo-m or control-f2, and arrow to view. Arrow down to organize by conversation
and press the space bar to uncheck it.
