It works that I was able to read how many unread message on the docking before
I updated the software then after that it won’t show on the docking that is
what I am trying to get it back. HOw do I know there is new unread message if I
was not able to view it on the docking?

tells me how many unread messages I currently have. There is no command that
will provide you with this info. It might show as a badge on the Dock too.
