Ah yeah. I have several standard accounts on my system but they are not mine. I
have not yet encountered an app where the trick does not work, maybe one day.
Lol!
Take care.

Yes, it does work, but keep in mind that it doesn’t always work for all
apps depending on what they install and where. Also, you must be an
administrator to open an app that has been quarantined by Gate Keeper. You
can’t even change Gate Keeper settings unless you are an administrator. The
first account created on all Macs is an administrator account, but I am aware
that some people create Standard accounts to do their day to day tasks. I
don’t personally do this, but I know many who do.
When you change Any security settings on your Mac, be certain you know
what you are doing and why you are doing it. Every Mac malware that has been
hitting the news of late, for example, only effects your Mac if you allow it
onto the system. It’s not like Windows where you can pretty much get a
variety of viruses without even trying. Still, the security of the Mac is
only as strong as the vigilant user.

Yeah the trick I posted is faster and bypasses the need to do that. And you
don't need to remember to turn the option back on. I can't remember where I
learned the trick but it was a while ago.
hope that helps a bit.

You don’t disable it forever. You just disable it to open the RS games
client and then set it back to the second option.

I never ever ever ever with the line over it, disable that. You can never

Did you unlock preferences in Security and Privacy preferences and
then change Gate Keeper to Anywhere? I have the RS games client and it
works here.

Because the rsgames client is apparently not in the app store,
el capitan won’t let me open it!
The System Preferences Security thingy won’t give me any satisfaction

Is there an accessible way to get around Apple’s paranoia??
Thanks in advance.************
