burning CD's is direct from finder. the quick way if it's data you're moving 
from HD to CD is select files, copy them, mount the cd to desktop, open the 
folder, paste, select burn to disc and there you go. that's another solution.

if you're looking for a more professional media burning utility, I highly 
recommend purchasing roxio toast 11 titanium or pro. both are voiceover 
friendly and offer amazing features. one feature for me that does what I need 
is burning old hfs volume CD's used on classic macs before OS X came out. it's 
a real life saver. plus it can data span where required, etc.
