Thanks, Julie, for thinking of us. The McCreerys are fine. Living in=20
Yokohama on the Eastern side of Japan, we were well out of the range=20
of the big earthquakes that hit the Japan Sea side of Japan last=20
night=81\so much so that it was a real shock to see the headlines this=20=

morning. We were also spared the damage caused last week by Typhoon=20
Tokage, the deadliest typhoon to hit Japan in the last decade. We had=20
strong wind and heavy rain, but our home and office up on the hills=20
kept us out of the flooding --in Yokohama the principal damage was to=20
basement restaurants and convenience stores with doors flush to streets=20=

that were briefly knee-high in water when the Aratamagawa (the canal=20
that leads down to Yokohama station) overflowed. It was the folks=20
southwest of us (think LA in relation to San Francisco) who bore the=20
brunt.

John
