It's important to note that the author of the Frontpagemag article, Bill Tierney,

"entered the Army in 1983. He trained in Arabic language and Iraqi dialect and interrogation and became a warrant officer in 1990. Bill participated in the Gulf War as a liaison officer to Saudis, Kuwaitis, and Egyptians and served as an interrogator during the ground offensive phase. He obtained a Master Degree in Middle East Studies - Arabic in 1993. He was stationed at Central Command HQ 1995 as command interpreter, intelligence analyst, and targeting specialist and participated in nine UNSCOM inspections 1996 - 1998, most focused on the Iraqi concealment mechanism. He left the Army in July 2000. He worked as interpreter/interrogator at Camp X-Ray Guantanamo Bay January & Feb. 2002."
