My favourite definition of style:
"One who is existing is continually in the process of becoming; the
actually existing subjective thinker, thinking, continually reproduces
this in his existence and invests all his thinking in becoming. This is
similar to having style. Only he really has style who is never finished
with something but 'stirs the waters of language' whenever he begins, so
that to him the most ordinary expression comes into existence with
