I don't have all the URL's because my dead computer ate them, but for a couple years I routinely with morning coffee looked at CNN, BBC, AsiaTimes, IndiaTimes, NyTimes, Washington Post, LA Times, Ha'aretz, Jpost, Arutz, Al-Ahram (Egyptian), Reuters AP, and Al Jazeera. I thought if I got enough perspectives on an event from a diversity of sources, I might find some kernel of truth. I finally had an overdose of "news". I still am subscribed to a handful of mostly left-leaning news services (CS Monitor is one I recall the name of clearly) -- but under a different sn and I can't remember their names accurately enough. I might forward the url's from there, though. I still look at Truthout occasionally, and The Nation, always at CNN & BBC to see if there's been an event I want to research more objectively. I'm keeping your post as "new mail" so that when I have empty time on my hands and am bored (hah) I can take a look at the sites I'm not familiar with. I too would be interested to know what "news" sites people are accessing. Btw, as tabloidish as it sounds, I also look at Yahoo's most e-mailed because I often find there significant events that CNN & BBC don't put on their front pages -- then I can research those if I'm interested. Oh. NewScientist is another one -- it's great. Fascinating stuff. Julie Krueger rambling ========Original Message======== Subj: [lit-ideas] News Sources Date: 10/22/2006 2:37:26 P.M.
