[lit-ideas] "Macushla"

I was hoping I would hear the Warren vintage song, "Million dollar baby" in
the soundtrack of eponymous film, but no such luck. I was also hoping, as the
film progressed, that they would play McCormack's rendition of "Macushla"
(name of character). The character played by Clint Eastwood says "macushla"
means "my darling, my blood" -- I wonder if that's gender neutral in Gaelic,
or
is there a possible formation, 'macushlO'?
