A fine notion. I am in favor of Pogo. Stephen Straker lured me into that
particular swamp.
The comic book not only exists, it has become many times more serious. See,
for example, Joe Sacco, “Footnotes in Gaza.”
Every art student now toys with the notion of producing a ‘zine.
While I paint, I seldom draw. The exception is when I attend conferences. I
give each speaker ten minutes to hold my attention. If he or she fails, I
focus on recording heads and other features of the room. I hardly think this
qualifies me to compete with Walt Kelly.
