Does one have to have a concept of an equation to have a grasp of algebra? Just wondering.
I'd say, yes. There's more to 'algebra,' generally speaking, than justusing variables whose values may be unknown, instead of numbers, whose values remain constant. But I'm not exactly sure what you mean by 'a grasp of algebra.'
