3-button mouse is needed to fully exploit the "X Window System", which is the standard graphical user interface system for most of Un*x flavours. A single button of a PowerBook under the trackpad is assigned to "left" button. In order to emulate "middle" and "right" button of a 3-button mouse, I changed the yaboot.conf file as follows.

image = hd:10,vmlinux.2.2.15pre19
label = linuxppc
root = /dev/hda11
append = "adb_buttons=98,100"

Now "F7" is the middle button and "F8" key is the right button.
