Here's a site for Linux beginners that may be of use:

I will be in Te Wai Pounamu this weekend, but Linux Play will be on as
usual presuming people decide to turn up. If anyone can bring some
milk and cookies to share, that would be grand. I've been a bit slack
about it the last couple of times but I've figured out how to use the
oven at my new place and I'm planning to bake again for LP the weekend
after next.
