[Linux-Discussion] x configuration

I've got a little problem with my X configuration on my laptop. I've
currently got Slackware 8.0 installed on my laptop. My X config file works
because I am able to get a screen show up. The only problem is that I can't
use my mouse or keyboard at all. I've noticed that this just happens on the
2.4 kernels and haven't had problems with the 2.2 kernels.
I'm running X 4.0.2 on my laptop. I've thought about going back to X 3.3.6
with a 2.4 kernel. I'm currently switching back to a 2.2 kernel with X 4.0.2.
Any suggestions for possible fixes / causes??
