I would prefer your second option, remove the apendices and tell people
to lok in the source. The original files for some of the appendices no
longer exist.

You can indeed include other files, but some of the characters (such as @ or
{) will be interpreted as commands, so the whole include story is fairly
brittle.

We have two options:
1. just update the contents of the documentation with the newest contents of
the sample files
2. Remove the appendix and tell people to look in the source

Which way is preferable?
